It’s been an excellent year for Karla Cruz Photography! We offered themed mini sessions, full glamour sessions, graduation sessions, and even a 1st birthday cake smash! We had eighteen sessions, worked with three fantastic hair and makeup stylists – Alysia Faith, Ava Couture Beauty, and Angelika. Now it’s time to go on a short hiatus. For the first time in my adult life, I am taking a little time for myself! I am going on a small road trip, enjoying family time, and giving this self-care thing a try. Then I’ll be blogging, attending classes, and working to improve my photography. Need to schedule a birthday session or a glamour session by a specific date? Don’t fret! Please keep your eyes open, and I’ll be back in late Fall with new sessions themes.

Prior to the 2016 election, I didn’t think much about my brown skin or that my parents were immigrants. I have been called exotic or people have given me a curious stare because I do not speak English with a Spanish accent (maybe a California Accent). I am from Los Angeles and attended an inner city Catholic school for most of my life. All of the kids I went to school with looked liked me and if they didn’t look like me, we were for the most part Catholic with immigrant parents. Fast forward to today, I make it a point to tell people that my parents are immigrants and we are no different. I live in Tennessee (Trump Country and that’s ok). I am an American just like you. Our politics may be different but, we are all human and beautiful. All of my ideas and creativity are fueled by that Latina fire and passion. Karla Cruz Photography will not stand with bigotry and hatred, we celebrate the beauty in cultural diversity. Let me capture your extraordinary beauty no matter how it’s packaged.
